The group will be accommodated in an old village, which has been renovated for rural tourism. Aldeia de Cuada is protected by the Regional Government of the Azores and classified as a Cultural Heritage site with historical, architectural and natural value. The site was mostly abandoned in the 1960s, when many local residents emigrated. Now, thanks to the recent renovation, it is equipped with all the facilities and conveniences for comfortable accommodation.
Fish and seafood, cooked in a simple manner - grilled, roasted, or fried - are the crown jewels of the Azores. However, the region also offers high quality beef from cows, which roam freely on the green Azorean pastures. For vegetarian, vegan, or any other dietary requirements , please contact us in advance.
Travelling by van is included on all routes - from the accommodation site to all visit sites.
The variation in temperature in the Azores is never big, mainly due to the Atlantic Ocean. This doesn’t mean that the weather isn’t changeable. It’s common to go through all four seasons in one day. Strong winds and more extreme conditions, however, are only experiences at higher altitudes.
Rain, although less frequent in summer, is a constant in the Azorean archipelago. For that reason, we advise you to take waterproof clothing, but we recommend prioritising clothing that is comfortable and airy, so that you can walk around in nature without any constraints.
No. This trip is designed for anyone who enjoys spending time outdoors. It’s an all-ages program, the pace will be appropriate to the needs of the group and everyone will be able to participate in the activities without a lot of effort. Does the trip require any special health care? No. There is no need for increased care for this trip. In the case of any unexpected issues, there is a health unit available on the island.
In order to let all travellers come to the Azores from anywhere in the world, INTO does not have a flight reservation service. We remind you that flights should only be purchased upon confirmation of the trip. This confirmation will be sent by e-mail, as soon as we have the minimum number of participants required for the trip to go ahead.
No, the group always meets at the destination, so that everyone can organize themselves according to their preferences and needs, whether in terms of time, flights and availability.
Although each traveller is responsible for booking the flights, we do ask you to send us your flight details, so that we can pick you up at the airport and drive you to the accommodation site where we’ll be staying.
Yes, we can help you book extra days, but they will be subject to the availability of the accommodation for those days.
